In July, Morgan Sindall and Our Newham Work met to review and shortlist a number of people that have put themselves forward for the Apprentice Site Manager and Apprentice Engineer opportunities with Morgan Sindall Construction, on the Manor Road Quarter project. From the eleven CVs received, 5 people from Newham have been invited to interview.
The Manor Road site team mentored four learners from London Design & Engineering UTC (LDEUTC). Learners were based with various teams (Design Management, Site Management, Engineering and Quantity Surveying). Throughout the week, learners were taken on site tours to understand the construction process and on the last day, learners delivered a PowerPoint presentation to Morgan Sindall Construction and LDEUTC, highlighting everything that they have learnt from the week.
In addition, a further four students from LDEUTC were also on the Manor Road site for work experience with our Mechanical & Engineering Subcontractor (ESG).
All eight learners had a fantastic week with both Morgan Sindall and ESG and the feedback from learners about how the week was structured and knowledge they gained was highly positive.
